Hair Toxic Element Exposure Profile
This test analyzes a small sample of hair to detect long-term exposure to toxic heavy metals such as arsenic, mercury, lead, aluminum, cadmium, and others. It also includes essential mineral levels to help assess overall nutrient balance.
Unlike blood or urine tests that reflect recent exposure, hair gives a 2–3 month picture of how much toxic metal your body has absorbed over time. Chronic heavy metal exposure has been linked to fatigue, brain fog, poor immunity, hormonal imbalances, and even neurological conditions.
It’s especially helpful if you’ve lived near industrial or polluted areas, worked with chemicals or metals, eaten large amounts of fish (mercury), had dental amalgams or implants, experienced unexplained symptoms with no clear diagnosis.
- What It Measures:
• Concentrations of ~31–30+ elements—both essential (e.g., Cr, Zn, Cu, Se, Mg) and toxic (e.g., Al, As, Cd, Pb, Hg, Thallium, Uranium) using ICP‑MS - Related Symptoms: Fatigue, brain fog, poor immunity, hormonal imbalances, and even neurological conditions.
- Specimen Required: Hair (about 1 tablespoon of clean, untreated scalp hair)
- Turnaround Time: 2–3 weeks
